Applications are now open for the V Kazan Global Youth Summit 2026, an international educational and leadership platform that will bring together young leaders, policymakers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and youth advocates from across the world to discuss the future of education and sustainable development. The summit is scheduled to take place from 26–30 August 2026 in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation.

Organized by the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, and the Youth Forum of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the summit has established itself as a major international platform for youth dialogue and cooperation. The 2026 edition is expected to attract participants from OIC member states, BRICS nations, the Asia-Pacific region, and other parts of the world.

This year's theme, “Education in an Era of Global Changes: Human Resources for Sustainable Development,” reflects growing global discussions on the role of education in preparing young people for rapidly evolving economic, technological, and social realities. Organizers say the summit will focus on how governments, educational institutions, and young leaders can work together to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for a sustainable future.

According to the official summit announcement, the event serves as “a unique educational and expert platform” designed to identify emerging challenges and trends affecting young people while promoting best practices in education, culture, media, and youth policy.

The summit agenda will feature high-level panel discussions, workshops, and expert sessions addressing a wide range of issues, including digital transformation in education, artificial intelligence, future workforce skills, youth self-realization, educational innovation, and international cooperation. Participants will also examine modern approaches to youth empowerment and strategies for strengthening human capital development.

One of the major discussion tracks will focus on the integration of artificial intelligence into education systems. As AI technologies continue to reshape classrooms, workplaces, and economies worldwide, delegates will explore how emerging technologies can enhance learning outcomes while ensuring equitable access to educational opportunities. Other sessions will examine future labor market demands and the skills required for success in increasingly digital economies.

The summit will also host the Global Youth Leadership Awards Ceremony, organized in partnership with international organizations. The awards aim to recognize outstanding young leaders whose work has contributed to social development, innovation, and international cooperation. Organizers believe that celebrating youth achievements can inspire broader participation in community development and leadership initiatives.

In a statement announcing the opening of applications, summit organizers described the event as an opportunity for participants to engage in meaningful dialogue on global educational challenges and develop collaborative solutions.

“Education in the Era of Global Change: Human Capital for Sustainable Development” will serve as the central theme guiding discussions and cooperation among participants, organizers noted.

The summit is expected to attract a diverse range of participants, including ministers of education and youth affairs, university leaders, diplomats, researchers, educational technology experts, media professionals, and youth organization representatives. By creating opportunities for interaction between decision-makers and young leaders, the event seeks to strengthen international partnerships and encourage youth participation in policy development.

Applications are open to individuals aged 18 to 35 who demonstrate leadership potential and a strong interest in education, innovation, youth policy, or sustainable development. Organizers have indicated that leaders of youth organizations, entrepreneurs, academics, opinion leaders, and representatives of international institutions may receive priority consideration during the selection process. The application deadline is 10 June 2026.

Beyond formal discussions, the summit will provide networking opportunities, cultural exchange activities, and collaborative workshops designed to encourage long-term international cooperation. Participants will have the chance to connect with peers from different countries, exchange ideas, and develop partnerships that extend beyond the event itself.

A key outcome of the summit will be the adoption of a joint declaration and action plan. According to organizers, these documents will help guide future youth initiatives and cooperation programs among participating countries, particularly within the Islamic world, BRICS nations, and the Asia-Pacific region.

As governments and institutions around the world seek solutions to challenges related to education, digital transformation, and workforce development, the Kazan Global Youth Summit 2026 aims to place young people at the center of those conversations. By fostering dialogue, innovation, and international collaboration, the summit hopes to equip the next generation of leaders with the tools necessary to build more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable societies.
